10 Minute Spring Wood Craft for Beginners
As the days grow longer and the flowers begin to bloom, what better way to embrace the spirit of the upcoming spring season than by diving into a delightful wood DIY craft?
In this blog post, I will introduce you to an incredibly easy and beginner-friendly DIY craft that will add a touch of creativity and charm to your home. Whether you’re a seasoned crafter or new to the world of DIY, this wood craft is perfect for everyone.
So, grab your tools, and let’s embark on a crafting adventure that will bring joy and a sense of accomplishment as we celebrate the arrival of spring.
The first thing you’ll want to do is mark and cut a square wood dowel. Cut four pieces, each smaller than the next. The tallest should be about 5″ tall, and the smallest about 2.5″.
Lightly sand the pieces to remove any splinters or roughness.
You can now paint them in any color you’d like. I painted these white with a medium size crafting paint brush and used a dry brush technique to give them a distressed finish.
You can use heart-shaped stickers if you have them, or you can make your own using craft paper and a heart-shaped puncher. You can find the one I used here.
I cut out 2 hearts.
Once the wood pieces are dry, join the two largest together with hot glue, I used my cordless Surebonder hot glue gun. And then repeated the process with the two smaller ones. Creating two sets.
Add one heart to the center of each set.
Wrap jute string around the center of the wood pieces. Tie in a simple knot in the front.
Add one wood bead to the top of each wood piece, creating a “head”.
And that’s it! How cute is this family!!!
How easy was this wood craft!! Will you give it a try!?
