Grab an old picture frame from your home or the thrift store.
Remove everything from it.
For this one, I even removed the tacks from it. It will depend what you want to do with your frame.
Now, you can paint the frame in your color of choice. I chose a beautiful blue milk paint by Rust-oleum.
I hot glued the back of the frame onto a piece of cardboard.
I measured and marked where I needed to cut. I wanted to make sure the cardboard measured the exact size as the outside of the frame.
I cut it using a sharp blade knife. Be careful whenever you are handling sharp or power tools.
I painted it white, however, you can paint yours in whatever color you’d like.
You can now add any graphics to the board. I used a reusable stencil and black paint. I made sure to stencil it towards the left upper corner.
I used my Ryobi Drill to screw one screw towards the back of each corner on the inside of the frame.
I then wrapped a string of LED lights inside the frame. Securing it and wrapping around each screw. Ensure to leave the battery pack hanging towards the back.
Hot glue the piece to the back of the frame. Again, ensure the battery pack remains outside.
You can now tape the battery pack to the back of the frame.
You can now add faux greenery and florals as needed to the front. I added it towards the bottom right corner.
And that’s it! What a fun DIY craft to make using an old picture frame! It’s fresh and beautiful! And it lights up!!!!
What do you think? Will you give it a try?
