In this project, we will create beautiful Christmas Skates decor.

  1. You’ll want to start with two pieces of cardboard in the size of your choice.
  2. Next, you’ll want to hand draw the shape of one skate onto one of the cardboard pieces.
  3. Using a sharp blade knife, carefully cut off the shape.
  4. Then, use the one shape and trace it onto the next piece of cardboard and cut it off with the blade knife.
  5. Once both pieces are cut, paint the blades of the skates in a silver. You can also use glitter or aluminum foil.
  6. You can choose what you want to cover the skates with, I used burlap fabric from Dollar Tree.
  7. I added modpodge to the surface of the skates and added the fabric on top.
  8. Trim off any excess fabric (don’t worry about it being perfect) and modpodge another layer on top.
  9. Once the modpodge is dry, remove the excess fabric from the edges with the blade knife.
  10. You can cover the top edge of the skates with whatever fabric you’d like, I chose an inexpensive option. I grabbed dusting pads from Dollar Tree. They are a great alternative.
  11. Open one in half to create two pieces.
  12. Then, hot glue to the top edge of the skates. Cut off any excess.
  13. You can now add “laces” to the skates by zigzagging string or thin rope to the front of the skates.
  14. Make a simple bow with the same rope and hot glue it to the top.
  15. Hot glue the skates to each other
  16. You can leave as is, but I added a bit of embellishments to add charm.
  17. And then add more rope to the back to be able to hang them.

That’s it! What a beautiful and easy Christmas Cardboard DIY Craft you can make this Christmas!
