If you’ve been following me here on my blog or on my YouTube Channel you know that I LOVE a good thrift store flip. But when it’s a Christmas theme one….it’s my absolute favorite!
Through the years of thrifting and flipping I’ve learned quite a bit about what to do, what not to do, and I want to share some tips on what to keep in mind when flipping thrift store finds.
- First, don’t be afraid to go large. If you see a piece at the thrift store that is large and has great bones, get it! You’d be surprised how easy and inexpensive it is to give a large, old piece a new, fresh look.
- Keep it simple. Don’t over think how you can flip an item. Sometimes all it takes is a can of paint, a couple of scrap wood boards and some decorative items, to give a wow factor to an old piece.
- Don’t over do it and know when to stop. This goes for any handmade decor. I am a huge fan of simplicity and have learned to know when to stop adding decorative items to get the perfect look.
- When in doubt, paint it white. I love white. I could paint everything white and be totally fine with it. 😂 Ok…maybe not everything, but seriously, when in doubt paint it white and go from there. It will instantly feel fresh, new and like a white canvas… literally.
Ok, so these are some things to keep in mind and now you can watch some of my recent flips and get tons of inspiration.
The thrift store flips you’ll see on this video are some of my favorite…and safely to say some of my best flips. They are large, durable and quality-made.
