Dollar Tree Peel-N-Stick Tile Hacks & Ideas

By now you’ve probably noticed that I’m a huge fan of Dollar Tree and their Crafters Square. If you haven’t visited their crafting isles, you should! In them you’ll find all types of crafting paints, supplies, ribbons, florals wood blanks, among much more. A new item added recently is their Peel-N-Stick Tiles.

Although, I believe they are actually meant to be used as actual tiles, they are perfect for crafting. Their style, colors and ease of use, make them an ideal crafting item.

You can purchase these styles online as well! Check them out here πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡

Use Dollar Tree Gift Bags For These Amazing Home Decor Ideas

Have you ever walked down a gift bag isle at a store and think to yourself, “wow, these bags would make beautiful home decor?” No?? Hmmm……maybe it’s just me πŸ€” πŸ˜‚

All joking aside; I have definitely thought this, especially at the Dollar Tree where all gift bags; small, large and all in between are $1.25!!!

I recently visited my local Dollar Tree and walked down the gift bag isle and just had to grab a few of my favorites and use them to create beautiful and unique decor.

On my recent video “Insanely EASY Hacks Using DOLLAR TREE Gift Bags” I took four of my favorite gift bag designs from the Dollar Tree, broke them down and used them in different ways to craft absolutely stunning decor.

Creative Ways To Use Dollar Tree Vinyl

Have you seen or used Dollar Tree’s Vinyl? I believe it’s safe to say that Dollar Tree has done a fantastic job creating and building an amazing crafting isle; the Crafter’s Square. I often find new and exciting things I can craft with.

I recently saw and entire section dedicated to vinyl rolls and vinyl weeding tools. I was so excited to try them!

Although, I don’t believe Dollar Tree’s Vinyl’s quality is as good as the more expensive brands, I do think it’s a great value, considering all the creative options you have. You can craft so many things with them. Although, I wouldn’t use it with my cutting machine, I’m definitely excited to use them for other crafting projects. The possibilities are endless.

On my recent video I showcased several ways you can craft with Dollar Tree’s Vinyl. You can watch the step-by-step tutorial here πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡. I hope it inspires you!

Thrifted 90’s Wood Bench Makeover

I have been flipping furniture for a few years now and this makeover has to be one of my top 5 furniture flips! This poor bench was so neglected, dirty, beat up and, just simply, outdated. The moment i saw it on Facebook Marketplace I knew I had to buy it and give it new life.

It is now beautiful, fresh, and so darling.

You can watch the full transformation here πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡, or you can read the steps below. I also have tons of other furniture flips and DIY Home Decor on my YouTube Channel.

Today’s blog post is in collaboration with some amazing and talented ladies. They are as obsessed as i am about thrifting and upcycling. At the bottom of this post you’ll find more information about them well as the link to their post. Make sure to head on over to them and get inspired!

The first thing I had to do was remove the upper back board with the 90s hearts and replace it with a simple 1×4 board for a more modern look.

I then shop vacuumed it and cleaned it very, very well. Sanded it down a bit with my orbital sander and a 150 grit sandpaper. I dusted it very well and gave it one FULL coat of Shellac. This will help prevent any bleed-through after the white paint is applied.

Once the Shellac was dry, I gave it one coat of Killz, stain-blocking primer and let that dry completely.

Once the primer was dry I added two coats of chalk paint from Mango Paint. I distressed the edges of the bench with my orbital sander and 150 grit sandpaper, for a more farmhouse look.

I then added a French stencil to the front with Dark gray chalk paint. You can find this and other reusable stencils on my Amazon Store. I sealed the stencil with a spray top coat and then sealed the entire bench with Verathane Polyurethane in Crystal Clear. I added two coats of the sealer.

I staged it with a Summer wreath and that’s it! This 90s, neglected, beat-up and dirty bench is now fresh, clean and absolutely beautiful. It will soon be posted on Facebook Marketplace once again in search of a new forever home!

Alright…..Here are the lovely and talented ladies that will have you running to the thrift store! Enjoy!

Using $1 Items To Create High End Decor

I’m sure you’ve see many DIYers create home decor out of dollar store items, and if you’re on a tight budget, but still want a “custom” look….this is a great option for you. However, let’s be real not all things from the dollar store have a high end look. Right?? Often it will require some DIY to make it your own style.

The possibilities are endless when it comes to DIY Home Decor. And the beauty is that you can truly customize it to the style and color scheme you need. On this post you’ll learn how i customized home decor to fit my style and color scheme using dollar store items.

Here are a few things to keep in mind when looking to DIY your own home decor using dollar store items.

  1. Don’t over complicate it. Look at the items at the dollar store and pick those that you feel a strong attraction to.
  2. Unless you are intentionally looking to make different styles, stay within one color scheme. It helps with staying on a budget and keep the decor cohesive and more high-end looking
  3. Dollar store decor is often perfect for an added touch or detail to a home. In my opinion, it’s not meant to decorate your entire home. However, if this is what you intend to do….stick to bigger items.
  4. Remember thrift store finds. Thrift store finds are another great way to add a custom look to your home without breaking the bank. Again….you may need to paint them and update them, but stick to the main style or color scheme.
  5. Keep the decor simple. I always tend to side with the side if simplicity. I think it makes decor look higher end and more classy. But…. always stay true to yourself. If you like more embellished decor, then go for it. Whatever works best for you.

How To Make Wood Round Signs And The Lessons I Learned In The Process

There are times when I craft, build or create when things just go so smoothly and move along as scheduled. The paint sticks without problems, cuts are straight, vinyl sticks and is smooth….. everything simply works well.

Then there are other times when things just fall apart. Days where I simply can’t get the hang of things, and nothing is just simple. Have you ever had those days?? Lol….of course! We all do.

Well….. recently I had one of those days. Nothing was going right. There we’re hiccups at every turn. I made so many mistakes while creating four door hangers! And unfortunately, sometimes the same mistakes multiple times!! πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

In effort to share the knowledge learned….and frustration… πŸ˜‚, I decided to put a video together showcasing, not only the steps on how I made the wood round signs, but to also highlight each mistake so that we can all learn from them.

You can watch the step-by-step tutorial on how I made the wood round signs and make note of the 10 Mistakes I made and Lessons I learned right here πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡

How To Flip Thrifted Home Decor To Make A Statement

Flipping thrifted home decor is one of my favorite projects to work on. I love searching for those beautiful gems waiting to get new life. And it’s not that hard to turn old, outdated decor into new, updated ones. You just need a plan and a few supplies.

Once you have found a great thrifted item, decide whether you want to keep it for yourself or sell for a profit. Then make a plan on what you’d like to do with it. Maybe you want to keep it’s original design and just update it with paint, stencils, etc. Or maybe you want to give it a whole new purpose. What ever the plan or vision is, go for it.

On this post you’ll be able to watch how I took four thrifted wood items and gave them a complete new look that definitely make a statement!

DIY Neutral Valentine’s Day Decor To Try This Year

Do you decorate for Valentine’s day? If so, do you go all out with the reds and pinks, or do you like more festive neutrals? I tend to be more on the neutral side. I love decorating for the seasons and holidays, but often try to be more on the subtle side of things when it comes to holidays like Valentine’s, Independence Day, etc.

Let’s discuss what exactly is neutral Valentine’s Day Decor? Some of you might be thinking…..ok there’s no way you can decorate for Valentine’s Day and stay neutral. Oh, but there is!! Valentine’s Day decor is all about love, friendship and romance. So for me, it doesn’t have to be bright pinks and red hearts everywhere…. it’s having the messaging and spirit of Valentine’s Day in a neutral, subtle way. I love using scriptures from the bible that talk about love, or using regular decor and adding a touch of romance by adding a neutral wreath shaped like a heart, and even making an entire wreath from scratch using neutral color fabric. The possibilities are endless when it comes to decorating for Valentine’s Day in neutral colors.

Below you’ll be able to watch how i made 7 Valentine’s Day decor using inexpensive items, but still giving them a romantic and festive look. There’s a touch of color to some of them, but then there are others that have no color, and still have a romantic feel to them.
